Sugar Shock

Put down that soda! Step away from the donuts! Sugar is quickly overtaking fat as the biggest threat to your heart.
According to new research in JAMA Internal Medicine, people who got 10% to 24% of their calories from added sugar were 30% more likely to die from cardiovascular disease than those who consumed less. Nearly 3 out of 4 Americans take in that amount of sugar daily and 10% of Americans get 25% or more, which triples their risk.
Researchers speculate that sugar may increase inflammation as well as raising blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and cause the liver to deposit more fats into the bloodstream.
If you eat too much sugar, scaling back is vital to your health.
